What is in a name?
I once was a player in an Massive Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG) named "Terra: Battle for the Outland" (Kaon LLC). This took place around the 1997-1999 time frame. While I have played games since the 1970's (starting with the board and pen/paper kinds), this was the first MMOG I played. The game was an eye-opener. It was a persistent 3D virtual world of vast spaces and magenta sunsets; it was a game of choreographed tank battles taking hours to resolve; it was a game built around a small community of interesting and quirky players. My game name was "roaringshrimp" which I now use as a domain name for my personal websites.
